Too much to do, Too little time

My cup it fillith over..... However my sanity it depletith LOL

We have had a busy couple of weeks and I feel like I am in desperate need of a tropical Island getaway. Unfortunately that isn't likely to happen anytime soon.

We went to the museum with Nana one Wednesday and spent about 3 hours roaming. Mr.Z10 enjoyed keeping his nana company and the two of them brought up the rear stopping to chat over every display and read ALL the information whilst MissM 7 and BabyR kept me going at a steady pace making sure we didn't dawdle or spend to loooooong on any one display. Mr.S11 wandered at his own pace floating between the slowpokes and the speedsters. LOL

Mr.Z had been studying insects over the past few weeks collecting all manner of species and pinning them onto a piece of polystyrene in order of size so he was fascinated in all the displays of insects. MissM7 was interested in the insects too but I think was more interested in the animals.
We spent about an hour in the childrens area touching this and that, reading this and than and exploring all the shelves and display boxes.

After a while BabR needed changing and was looking tired so MissM7 and I headed to the changing room and family toilet only to discover it was inuse. We ended up waiting for about 20 minutes only to discover a little old Asian man had been occupying it. We decided we weren't brave enough to venture in there after him so instead I just changed BabyR in his stroller hoping nobody would complain. Thankfully nobody did.

Weird and Wonderful - Kids hands on exploration room

After that we moved through to the Earthquake and natural disaster display as Mr.S11 had been studying earthquakes for science and we wanted to see what more we could discover at the museum. We went into the replica house to experience a vocanic eruption and imagine what it would really be like if a volcano erupted in our city. ... BIG MISTAKE! The kids were all totally freaked out and that night 2 of them had nightmares and had to come sleep near us.

We were just pressing the button on the elevator to go up to the top floor of the museum when Nana looked at her watch and started to worry about the parking and if we would get a ticket as we had been there for 3 hours and there was a 2 hour parking limit in the carpark. We decided to return another time and instead raced off to check on the cars, much to MissM7's disgust as she had REALLY wanted to see the Victorian village. (At least she got to spend quite a while exploring the Maori housing and village which was another thing she had really looked forward to seeing.) Thankfully there was no sign of a ticket when we got back to the cars but my mother in law and I both had chalk marks on our tires.

Maori Whare (house)

By this time the kids were all busting for the toliet but it was not close enough for them to go alone so Nana took the kids them while I fed BabyR and protected the cars from parking officials. LOL. We then headed home feeling rather tired and hungry.

MissM7 has been having twice weekly swimming lessons on Wednesday and Thursday mornings and these have made those mornings rather hectic. However she is making huge progress and yeasterday swam a whole length non stop doing perfectly co-ordinated bilateral breathing with. I was sooooo impressed she looked really beautiful in the waterand considering the fact that at Christmas time she was only just able to float. Her teacher is wonderful and has also allowed Mr.Z10 to jump in and share the lessons at no charge.

Now add into the mix the fact that Athletics club champs are running on Monday nights, MrS11 has started intermediate basketball legue also on a Monday night, MissM7 does gymnastics on Tuesday afternoon and MrZ10 does Rugby practice on Tuesday night, Swimming lessons Wed morning, Gymnastics for MrZ10 wednesday afternoon, Swimming and basketball n Thursday again and whoa I'm exhausted just thinking about it all. Somewhere in that mad schedule we are also getting our school work done. The housework however is just not happening all that frequently! Thankfully some of these activities will finish soon no doubt to be replaced by others.

Dh is working hard still but his hours are becoming more managable and he says that he may even be able to have the next couple of weeks off with us which will be great.

So that is us. Is it any wonder that I feel in need of a relaxing tropical holiday.....

Oh well dreams are free! LOL
