What an insane week it has been...

Last week my dh returned to work to be informed that his boss was filing for bankruptcy and was being liquidated.

Initially dh's boss said he would make sure dh was taken care of and would find him work but since then he has realized this isn't going to be possible and thus dh has been made redundant. Dh went in to meet with the Liquidation lawyers this morning to receive formal notification of the process and to sort out what was owing to him in the way of overtime and holiday pay it turns out he has quite a bit coming to him due to the extensive hours he has been working and the holidays that he hasn't had time to take over the past 2 years. Thankfully he is the first creditor that will be paid off so we shouldn't suffer too much finacial hardship.

However the news isn't all bad as my dh is planning on setting himself up in business as a home Handyman and we feel quite optimistic about that. He has had to go out though and buy a new work van as he has to return his work one to his boss as part of the liquidation process.

Then on Sunday my brother and sister in law returned from a 3 week holiday in Cuba and Mexico. We spent a fair bit of time with them on Sunday catching up and exchanging gifts. Monday morning my sister in law phoned me to say she had to go to the Dr. to be tested for this awful Mexican Swine Flu and that we all had to stay home in quarantine until she got her test results back. I even had to cancel dd8's netball practice as I am the coach. Today is my dd8 birthday and we have been house bound and not alowed contact with anyone. Thankfully we got the medical all clear this afternoon so we can get back to our normal lifestyle. YAY!!!!

And now even though it is only Tuesday AI am thoroughly exhausted... LOL

No pictures with this post sorry as haven't got time to upload them off the camera but hopefully I will find time during the week to add some of dd8's birthday photos.

One thing I will add here is I am totally amazed at how good the Lord is and how He never gives us more than we can cope with. His abundant love is unfailing. There is so much more I could add as this situation with my dh is really in a weird way an answer to my prayers that dh workload would ease and that he would be able to spend more time with us without any major finacial stress.

Pray for work to come dh way and for some really good quality time as a family in the meantime.
