Since hearing about my dh's impending redundancy last week I started advertising
some of my homeschooling resources on a local curriculum swap group.
As a result of this I have made enough money to pay both my car registration and
WOF yesterday without even having to withdraw any money from our bank account.
Also my dh has managed to buy a 2nd hand van to get started as an independent
contractor and only needed to take a small amount out of our bank account as he had made
extra by trading in some old copper and aluminum. The van needs a new clutch and the drive shaft is a bit dodgy but dh is able to fix it himself so we wont have to fork out for repair bills. He intends spending the next week or so getting his van up and running and learning about setting himself up as an independent contractor before he takes on any work.
He has also been offered 2 small, temporary, short term handyman/builder jobs to be done in a couple of weeks with a possibility of more in about 3 months time. Nothing like what he was doing or earning before but enough to get us by and pay the bills if we live very frugally. He has also learned that the overtime and holiday pay he is owed will be much more than we expected and that he will be at the top of the creditors list in the liquidation process so should get all or at
least most of what is owed to him.
At the beginning of this year I spent a lot of time praying to God for dh to be able to spend more time with us without us suffering financially as he was working such hideous hours 6 days a week and was sleeping most of the time that he wasn't working. Well now we have him at home almost 24/7 for a while until he gets up and running independently.
So my praises and thanks go out to God for his constant provision.
